Guidance on Assessment

Students will take a theory exam at an exam venue established by the Course Provider Center. The exam process is designed to be streamlined and efficient, utilizing laptops for completing answer book templates while maintaining the integrity of the certification.

The assessment will encompass a combination of formative and summative questions across 12 competencies, including multiple-choice, true-false, and summative questions, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of learners’ OHS knowledge and skills.

Unit A - Management of Health and Safety Study

This unit focuses on the fundamental principles and practices of occupational safety and health management. The syllabus includes the following topics and corresponding study hours:

  • Principles and theories of occupational safety and health management - 8 hours

  • Risk Management - 8 hours

  • OHS strategy, policy, and legal laws - 8 hours

  • Safety Culture, communications, and organizational competence - 8 hours

  • Control of safety and health risks - 8 hours

  • Monitoring systems for safety and health - 5 hours

  • Audit and review - 5 hours

Unit B - Industrial Hazards, Risks, and Control Measures Study

  • Chemical Hazards - 5 hours
