The Level 2 Award in Risk Assessment Training is an advanced course that builds upon the foundational knowledge of risk assessment. It is designed for individuals who have a responsibility for managing risk assessment processes within their organizations or wish to enhance their skills in risk assessment. The course provides in-depth knowledge and practical techniques to enable participants to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk control strategies.


The qualification has recommended course duration of 3 days.
Note: However the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.


• Introduction to risk assessment and its importance.
• Legal requirements and obligations related to risk assessment.
• Definitions and key terms in risk assessment.
• The risk assessment process: hazard identification, risk analysis, risk evaluation, and risk control.
• Risk assessment techniques and tools, such as risk matrices and checklists.
• Data collection and analysis for risk assessment.
• Communication of risk assessment findings to stakeholders.
• Monitoring and review of risk assessments.
• Update and adaptation of control measures.
• Case studies and practical exercises to apply risk assessment principles.


This qualification is evaluated using assignments and assessments. To receive this qualification, the learner must pass both tests with a certain percentage.
